On December 23, 2024, at the end of the year, the “Business Without Barriers” community gathering was held at Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center. This community of companies has united around the initiative of Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, “Without Barriers.” It currently includes 28 companies, each directing its efforts toward supporting Ukrainian society. Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, attended the meeting.
The event took place in the
Big Exhibition Hall of the complex and featured the participation of the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova, and the Governor of the National Bank, Andriy Pyshnyi.
The venue was divided into three distinct areas:
- The central space housed a stage and theatrical seating for the official portion of the program.
- On one side, the organizers set up a catering zone, separated by soundproof mobile partitions. Banners showcasing the community companies’ projects were displayed here.
- The expo zone and comfortable tables for guests occupied the third part of the space, and so on.
“There is a phrase: ‘the best version of ourselves.’ Accessibility—removing barriers—is the best version of our shared present. It’s a version where all of us, regardless of age, gender, health status, or even enemy attacks, can live with quality and dignity. And during the country’s defense, responsible businesses are those that provide not only goods and services but also resilience,” – said Olena Zelenska.
Almost all member companies are implementing projects aimed at supporting the reintegration of veterans. In particular: DTEK, McDonald’s Ukraine, SoftServe, Silpo, and PUMB. Throughout this year, all “Business Without Barriers” community companies have conducted training for their employees on respectful communication and interaction.
During the event, the First Lady spoke about the updated “
Barrier-Free Guide”—a handbook on respectful communication and interaction created at her initiative. Community members also received the “Business Without Barriers” award at the meeting.
“I believe that removing barriers cannot be achieved through official directives alone. Only those who are truly humane can make humanity a new value,” – Olena Zelenska concluded.
