On December 30, we invite adults and young guests to the art mystery "BIG CHRISTMAS CAROL" from the team of the legendary ethnofest "Country of Dreams" and its inspirer Oleg Skrypka.
For one day, the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center will turn into a "Christmas Country of Dreams," where each of the locations will acquaint you with the true Ukrainian Christmas traditions and customs. We tell in more detail what special things are prepared for the guests by the event organizers!
DETAILED EVENT PROGRAM
The art mystery "THE GREAT CHRISTMAS CAROL" starts on Saturday, December 30, at 3 pm. The event will unfold simultaneously at three main locations of Parkovy.
CONCERT HALL
16:00-17:30 – guests of the event will delve into ethno-performances, which were prepared by the folk groups "Roksolania" and "Kralitsa": the rite of driving a goat, caroling, generosity and study of festive wreaths together with the guests of the Festival, as well as mischief with Malanka and Vasily. And of course, the school of traditional dance and a fun festive atmosphere.
CONCERT HALL
15:00-19:00 – meanwhile, in a spacious Congress and Concert hall, next to the main hall, various thematic workshops will work for everyone. You will have the opportunity to:

wind a doll-herbalist, filled with fragrant medicinal plants;

paint a carol star;

weave a wreath of dried flowers:

make 3D vytynanka;

paint a gingerbread;
-
make a traditional Christmas decoration "spider" from straw;

paint wooden Christmas toys;

create a wax candle;
-
learn to decorate the fabric with the "whipping" technique;

paint masks for malanka.
And much, much more! Master classes will be available at an additional cost, and will be interesting for both children and adults.
15:00-19:00 – next to the zone of master classes there will be a Christmas market where you can buy products of traditional Ukrainian crafts: felt toys, blacksmithing and carving, weaving, candles made of board wax, pottery, gingerbread, etc. – everyone will find an interesting thing or a wonderful gift for themselves and loved ones.

17:00-17:30 – theatrical display of the ethno-fashion brand STRIY. STRIY brand is not only about clothes, but also about the philosophy of being, about native vibrations, patterns and sounds. About understanding contents, colors and ideas. About the harmony of yourself in the world and the world in yourself. The presentation action of the brand is based on the native myth of the creation of the world: from the black waters of the world ocean, eggs-tears of the divine falcon to the Tree of Life and the Genus and birds of paradise. Music, words and production – author's (Anna Zakletska), based on folk songs, fairy tales and stories.
RESTAURANT (ZONE IS AVAILABLE BY VIP TICKETS)
17:00-17:30 – after the performance in the concert hall, a closed ceremonial part will take place in the Restaurant zone. Guests will be visited by Malanka – a New Year's rite with traditional dressing in animals and folklore characters familiar to many residents of the western regions of Ukraine. Actors will sing, dance, give, joke – all this using traditional folk material and in authentic costumes.

CONCERT HALL
17:30-19:00 – a theatrical performance called: "Ancient Sokyrynstki Vertep." Reconstruction of the original text and script from 1774 – the most beautiful facial comedy that delights, inspires, and inspires both the audience and the actors themselves. This is the oldest nativity scene that has been preserved in Ukraine.
The main roles are the same biblical characters as they were in the 18th century: angels, devils, three kings, Joseph and the Virgin Mary, the baby Jesus, Herod. Exclusive nativity masks were created especially for the action, which will immerse the audience in the world of ancient Ukrainian traditions.
RESTAURANT (ZONE IS AVAILABLE BY VIP TICKETS)

CONCERT HALL
17:30-18:00 – the second action of the ethno-fashion presentation of the STRIY brand.
19:30-21:30 – a big Christmas concert. A special program for the guests of the event is prepared by such legends of Ukrainian rock music as VV (Vopli Vidoplyasova), NAOFI (National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments) and the inspirer of the "Great Christmas Carol" – Oleg Skrypka!
21:30-23:00 – after the concert, a Christmas ethnic disco awaits the guests - melodies familiar from childhood in a modern arrangement will help with energy and drive.

The hosts of the event invite guests to dress up in Christmas images "in accordance with our traditions and your unrestrained imagination about Vertep, Malanka and Christmas." Your costumes and masks will decorate the holiday, and the best ones will be marked. The brightest nativity star presented by you will receive the main prize – the author's wine of Oleg Skrypka from "Land of Dreams." Also during the event there will be a charitable collection to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In case of an air alert, a certified shelter on the -1 floor of Parkovy will work for visitors.
CEC Parkovy is the general partner-location of the event "BIG CHRISTMAS CAROL." The team of the complex enjoys the opportunity to support and strengthen a large-scale, festive event, which aims to preserve and popularize the Ukrainian national cultural heritage.
Entrance to children under 10 years old and the military with a PMO certificate is free.
Two types of tickets are currently available – fan zone and VIP.
All activities are available for guests of the fan zone, except for those indicated in the Restaurant hall. Guests with VIP tickets have access to all halls, the ticket also includes a
festive dinner in the "Restaurant" hall, and those activities that will take place there in a closed format.
