  • “Why Livelihoods Matter” Forum Held in the Heart of Kyiv
31 October 2025
У серці Києва відбувся Форум "Why Livelihoods Matter"

At the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center, JERU (a joint initiative of the international organizations Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide), with the support of the Government of Germany, organized the “Why Livelihoods Matter” Forum. The event brought together more than 100 participants — representatives of government institutions, diplomatic missions, civil society, and Ukrainian and international organizations — to discuss economic recovery and strengthening the resilience of communities in Ukraine.

The Forum took place in the Small Exhibition Hall.

To host the event, the organizers divided the 500 sq.m space in half using mobile partitions:

  • One part was set up with audience seating for guests and a stage for speakers;
  • The other half was transformed into a networking area with a standing reception by Parkovy Catering. Partner banners and a lounge area with sofas were also arranged here.

Thanks to Parkovy’s flexible spaces, the venue could be easily adapted to the required format, allowing guests to comfortably listen to speeches and exchange experiences without disturbing one another.

Speakers focused on topics such as economic recovery, local partnerships, inclusion, and youth. Key messages from the event included:

  • Joint efforts by the government, donors, and local partners are critically important for economic recovery.
  • Post-war reconstruction must be people-centred and barrier-free, with the development of social entrepreneurship and inclusive initiatives.
  • Investment in youth is a strategic priority. Despite the challenges after COVID and the war, this is possible and already delivering results.

The project “Building the resilience of war-affected communities in Ukraine – supporting basic needs and reducing the impact of future shocks” is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The Parkovy Team thanks the organizers for holding the event with us!
