On September 24, the Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center hosted a farewell reception to mark the conclusion of the Danish Ambassador’s tenure in Ukraine. Ole Egberg Mikkelsen and his wife, Anne-Marie, held the event after more than five years of service in Ukraine.
The reception took place at the Park Hall Event Space.
The event brought together representatives of Ukraine’s government, civil society, and business, as well as delegations from Mykolaiv Oblast and the city of Mykolaiv, with whom Denmark has developed a special partnership since 2022.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis thanked the Ambassador for his significant contribution to strengthening Danish-Ukrainian relations, particularly in the defense sphere as well as the civil sector. Head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim, Chairman of the Regional Council Anton Tabunshchyk, and Mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Senkevych noted the diplomat’s active role in developing Denmark’s partnership with the region. Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Oleksii Mihin also expressed gratitude for the support of Ukrainian rescuers.
“For me, this is a great honor, but I accept it with humility. I know well that this recognition is not for me personally. It is an acknowledgement of the strong partnership between Denmark and Ukraine that has developed since 2022,” Ambassador Mikkelsen said in his farewell address.
The evening concluded with a performance by the National Presidential Orchestra, which ceremonially closed the reception with two musical pieces: “Chervona Kalyna” and “Hej sokoły.” To finish, the Presidential Orchestra performed a well-known Danish pop song.
Parkovy Team thanks the organizers for choosing our venue for a socially significant event and for helping to spread powerful ideas beyond Ukraine.
See you again at Parkovy!
