This is the sixth major professional conference that brought together media professionals from all over the country. For two days, on October 12 and 13, leading journalists, editors, media managers and experts from all over the country were discussing the most pressing issues related to freedom of speech and transformations in the media market.
On Thursday, October 12, the sixth National Media Talk (NMT) conference began its work. It started with honoring the memory of our colleagues who died in the war. Since 2014, 69 media workers have been killed as warriors or in the line of duty. And the key speaker of NMT 2023 was the Ukrainian philosopher and journalist Volodymyr Yermolenko with the conversation "Be able and win: what does victory mean today?"
The National Media Talk conference was opened by the director of the USAID regional mission in Ukraine James Hope and the director of Internews in Ukraine Gillian McCormack.
Traditionally, speakers were invited to the media event who are experts and professionals in the industry, understand the Ukrainian media landscape, analyze the market and find solutions to complex challenges. The entire conference program can be found here:

The conference was held in three streams — the main stage, the discussion hall and the presentation hall.
Guests of the conference had the opportunity to hear speeches and public discussions of such meters of Ukrainian journalism as Vitaly Portnikov, Vitaly Sych, Sevgil Musaieva, Natalya Ligacheva, Julia Mostova, Dmytro Tuzov, Julia Ostrovskaya, and many others.
"This year, in addition to traditional conversations about important media challenges, new formats will be involved on National Media Talk. In particular — the presentation hall, which will host 20 presentations of the latest research on the audience, measurement, monetization, artificial intelligence, and new formats. There will also be a discussion hall where participants can not only listen, but also join the discussion of important topics, such as accreditation of journalists at the front, the work of the media in the de-occupied territories and others," — Director of the National Media Association, representative of the NMT organizing committee Ekaterina Myasnikova.
NMT 2023 is organized by USAID, Internews and the National Media Association.
