On September 8, 2023, the cloud operator GigaCloud organized a massive event in Parkovy, Ukraine, unlike anything seen before in the country – "Svoe.IT. Ukrainian Software Showroom." Its goal was to promote Ukrainian software among a wide range of users and permanently abandon Russian software.
Over 1500 guests tested more than 30 programs from Ukrainian developer companies.
Supporting Ukrainian developers and refraining from using software from an aggressor country, which unfortunately still constitutes over 70% of the software used by companies in Ukraine, is an important step for national security.
The organizers decided to host the event in a showroom format to allow visitors to try out various programs, test them, receive professional consultations, and choose what suits their specific businesses best. This format simplifies the selection process and saves time on searching for the necessary software.
The showroom featured programs for document management, accounting, CRM, ERP systems, and services for their implementation, programs for call centers and technical support services, EdTech solutions, and other software. There was also an opportunity to listen to presentations about automation, trends in software development, and the dangers of using Russian products.
Alexander Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, addressed the event: "Despite Russia's bloody war against our country, some organizations in Ukraine continue not only to use Russian software but also to purchase it. For instance, I know about 1C, which operates in Ukraine under a different brand, Business Automation Framework (BAS). This is a matter of national security because the enemy effectively gains access to our information systems. We need to inform users that there are quality alternatives. They already exist in Ukraine, and we can see that right here and right now. We also need to support Ukrainian developers, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation will continue to assist them in development, participation in international exhibitions, and promotion."
The "Svoe.IT" event demonstrated that Ukrainian software exists and is no worse than Russian software.
The "Svoe.IT" event covered three central locations on the third floor of the Parkovy complex. Guest gathering took place at a large reception area, the Ukrainian software exhibition and conference were held in the congress-concert hall lobby and on the newly renovated terrace of the complex.
The updated terrace became a place for informal communication and relaxation for event guests.
The Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center expresses its gratitude to the event organizer GIGACLOUD for supporting national products and contributing to the development of the Ukrainian IT industry.
