On May 30, the opening ceremony of national competitions in adaptive sports among wounded military personnel and veterans – the Invictus Games – was held at the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center.
The goal of the Invictus Games in Ukraine project is to create new opportunities for wounded and injured Ukrainian veterans and military personnel, supporting them on the path to physical recovery, psychological rehabilitation, and social integration.
The national competitions precede the national selection of the national team that will represent Ukraine at the international adaptive sports event of the Invictus Games in Canada in 2025. The participation of the national team in the Games in 2025 will be a jubilee for Ukraine – the Ukrainian team will впʼяте demonstrate the invincibility of our soldiers.
The opening ceremony took place in the Big Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the Parkovy CEC. The event organizers attended the complex in advance so that the location was completely ready for the visit of Ukrainian heroes, including many people with disabilities:
the organizers built a long and comfortable ramp to the stage;
a large space on the location made it possible to conveniently arrange both a catering and networking area, and a seating area for guests;
many navigation elements were located on the location.
National competitions have become the largest veteran sports event, uniting militaries and veterans from each region of Ukraine.
The selection and preparation of the national team of Ukraine in 2025 is carried out by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, together with the budgetary institution Ukrainian Veteran Fund, the Center for Strategic Communications "StratCom Ukraine," NGO "Come back alive!", and NGO "Invictus Games Ukraine." The financial partner of the Ukrainian national team of the Invictus Games 2025 is the leading Ukrainian bank PUMB.
The Parkovy team expresses its sincere gratitude to all organizers, participants and partners for their support and assistance in holding this important event. Such events are invaluable on the way to the physical, psychological, and social recovery of our servicemen and veterans. Together we demonstrate the strength and unity of the Ukrainian people.
