On February 12, the annual “Sports Constellation of Donetsk Region — 2025” ceremony was held at the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center, bringing together key representatives of the sports sector, government authorities, and partner organizations to honor the achievements of athletes and coaches over the past year.
The event was held for the fifth time, and for the fourth time outside Donetsk Region due to the ongoing full-scale war. The initiative is led by the Regional Center for Physical Health “Sport for All,” with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration’s Department of Physical Culture and Sports. This year, the камерний and technically equipped Rest Hall Amphitheater served as the venue.
Guests explored the memorial photo exhibition “Angels of Sport,” dedicated to athletes and coaches from Donetsk Region who lost their lives due to the war. The space also featured a screen projection showcasing their photos and stories.
The official ceremony included awards across dozens of nominations. “Athletes of the Year” were Artem Harbar (Olympic sports), Vladyslav Rudniev (non-Olympic sports), and Rymma Filimoshkina (among athletes with disabilities). The “Coach of the Year” awards went to Yurii Biriukov, Serhii Rudniev, and Nataliia Vasylenko.
Special recognition was given to the development of adaptive sports, as well as social initiatives such as “Heroes of Sport” and “Young Stars.” Awards were also presented to local communities, sports organizations, and centers.
Among the distinguished guests were Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Serhii Tymofieiev, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Oleksii Perevezentsev, Member of Parliament and President of the Athletics Federation of Ukraine Olha Saladukha, President of the WAKO Kickboxing Federation Olha Pavlenko, and track and field athlete Viktoriia Tkachuk.
