“Families of Donetsk Region: From Generation to Generation” at Parkovy

On May 10, 2026, the event “Families of Donetsk Region: From Generation to Generation”, dedicated to Mother’s Day and the International Day of Families, took place at the Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center. The cultural and educational event was organized with the participation of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the United World Cultures Foundation.

The event brought together more than 300 guests, including families from the Donetsk region who were forced to relocate to Kyiv because of the war, as well as representatives of government authorities, humanitarian hubs, relocated institutions, public organizations, creative groups, and partner organizations.

The program focused on family support, remembrance, the resilience of communities in the Donetsk region, and intergenerational unity. It combined welcome speeches, thematic panel discussions, a children’s workshop, exhibition and information areas, an awards ceremony for participants and winners of a children’s art competition, and a cultural program.

The event took place in the Big Exhibition Hall. The venue accommodated a stage, theatre-style seating, an exhibition area, and interactive activities for children within a single space. Parkovy’s flexible configurations are particularly well suited to cross-sector events that require both comfortable audience accommodation and dedicated areas for interaction.

The event aimed to create a supportive environment for families from the Donetsk region and highlight the role of family in preserving identity, supporting children, strengthening intergenerational unity, and building resilient communities. The organizers also recognized the Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center for its partnership, support of families from the Donetsk region, and contribution to the organization of the event.

During the event, the participants were addressed by Liliia Zolkina, Head of the Department for Family, Youth, Mass Events, and National-Patriotic Education of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; Nataliia Kyrkach, Adviser to the Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration on Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men; and Olena Kobets, Director of the United World Cultures Foundation and co-organizer of the event.

The cultural program featured the Koloryt instrumental ensemble, the vocal group of the Kostiantynivka School of Arts, the StartDance dance group, Zakhar Pshonka from the Bakhmut School of Arts, Sofiia Popova from Sloviansk, the Nadiia vocal ensemble, Nilufar Kovalska from Soledar, Mariia Samsonova, the Charivnytsia Ukrainian folk song ensemble, Yuliia Idzhylova, and the duo of Agnesi and Vasyl Vaib.
