The media conference is dedicated to the transformations experienced by the domestic media during the war, and their role in achieving victory and post-war recovery, was held at the main locations of the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center and lasted two days (November 10 and 11).
Donbas Media Forum changes the format and venue, but leaves unchanged the main thing – the focus on the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories into Ukraine and the rights of people who are in these territories today. It was highlighted by the founder of the Donbas Media Forum, Ukrinform CEO Oleksiy Matsuka, who was speaking at the opening of the media conference.
This is the eighth media forum that NGO DII-Ukraine (formerly Donetsk Institute of Information) has been organizing since 2015. DMF, according to its organizers, should become a platform for safe professional discussion among media professionals, where representatives of local, regional and national media will exchange experience and interact with representatives of state authorities to further support their effective work for the benefit of Ukraine in these difficult times.
Within the framework of the forum, panel discussions were held to discuss the role of the media in the process of European integration of Ukraine, in the coverage and documentation of war crimes, in the post-war reconstruction.
Within two days, hundreds of guests from all over the country attended numerous panel discussions with the participation of statesmen, Ukrainian and foreign politicians, and media experts. During the conference, the organizers equipped a reserve room in the
location-shelter on the -1 floor of Parkovy in case of an air raid. The fears were not in vain, but thanks to the backup site, the organizers were able to continue the work of the forum during the 3.5-hour air alert, which lasted in Kyiv on the first day of the event.
The main platform for public discussions was the
Convention and Concert Hall on the third floor of the complex.
There was also a closed screening in the new location-amphitheater
Rest Hall.
The CEC Parkovy team is grateful to the organizers of the Donbas Media Forum for the important social mission of the project, which aims to unite Ukrainian society, support it on the way to Victory and European integration.
