For the second time in 2024, the public organization "Zemliachky" organized a socially significant event at CEC Parkovy.
On June 28, a Forum on psychological support and rehabilitation of the military took place. The event gathered more than 100 participants, including leading experts in psychology, veterans and representatives of state structures. The goal was to discuss topical issues of psychological assistance and create an effective rehabilitation system for the military and their families.
"In our society, a myth has been formed that the military are indestructible personalities, but above all they are people with emotions and feelings. People who fight everyday for our common freedom. It is important for us to remember this and create conditions in which the military can receive support and understanding," – Ksenia Draganyuk, co-founder of the Zemliachky NGO, said.
The forum was held in the
Small Exhibition Hall. One of the key topics was the discussion of the problems faced by the military during service and rehabilitation. Acting psychologists shared their experience of working with the military, talked about the specifics of approaches to individual cases and trust as a basis.
Among the event participants:
- Oksana Votum — master of author's wedding ceremonies, practical psychologist;
- Oksana Grigorieva — Gender Advisor to the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- Kseniia Vosnitsyna — Director of the Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation of Veterans "Lesnaya Polyana" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
- Anna Mishchenko — Director of the Kyiv School of Public Administration named after Serhiy Nyzhnyy;
- Masi Nayyem — veteran, public figure, NGO human rights center for military personnel "Principle";
- Natalia Nos — the Deputy Director of the department for ensuring the transition from military service to civilian life. Head of the Department of Psychological and Medical Support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine;
- Elzara Shukurdzhieva — Chief Consultant of the Coordination Center for Ensuring Interaction between the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- Oleg Krets — a clinical psychotherapist at the Boryviter Military School NGO. Full member of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine;
- Alina Vyatkina — veteran and executive director of the NGO "Psychological Support and Rehabilitation "Free Choice,"
- Anna Gavrish — head of psychological support for the NGO Zemliachky.
The topics of the speeches touched upon innovative and unconventional methods of supporting the military. Participants discussed different approaches and their effectiveness. Methods of art therapy, therapy with the help of animals, meditation and other non-traditional ways that can be useful in the process of rehabilitation of the military were presented. The final discussion was devoted to the need to create a unified, holistic system of support for the military.
"At the forum, we managed to create a professional and friendly space for communication, formation of connections and trust, and understanding of the current situation regarding mental health. The next step we see is the creation of an initiative based on the NGO Zemliachky together with partners to strengthen cooperation and form a single assistance platform. So that the militaries know that at every stage of the service they can receive quality support, aid and assistance" — NGO Zemliachky mentioned.
After the event, participants and speakers had the opportunity to discuss all the issues that arose during the forum, exchange experiences and opinions. Catering from
Parkovy Catering also worked at the location, and was also presented as an event partner.
This Forum was the second event that took place within the framework of the systematic partnership of the NGO Zemliachky with CEC Parkovy. On April 10, the organization celebrated the second anniversary of its foundation at the CEC. During this period, the team closed more than 22,000 individual requests of defenders and provided support for more than 215 million hryvnias. All this became possible thanks to the systematic support of partners and friends — Ukrainian companies, funds and concerned Ukrainians. The event took place at the
Park Hall Event Space.
At the end of the evening, the partners of the NGO, Parkovy in particular, were awarded a special distinction from Zemliachky. The award was created from the cartridge case with which one of the defenders of the Rune stands for Ukraine in one of the hot spots.
