On May 15-16, the second Ukrainian Construction Congress was held at the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center, the key topic of which was the restoration of Ukraine, taking into account the requirements of barrier-free environment and inclusiveness.
The event took place on the third floor of the Parkovy CEC. The Congress and Concert Hall was presented as the main location for the speakers' speech and discussion of current topics.
"Today, barrier-freedom design and construction is about showing respect for people, social responsibility, and professionalism of your teams," said Tetyana Lomakina, Presidential Commissioner for Barrier-Free Environment, at the opening of the congress.
During the event, opinions on the following key topics were highlighted:
"Strategies and challenges of Ukraine's recovery,"
"State programs, tools for розвʼязання the housing issue,"
"Veteran enterprise is the key to the security of society,"
"Industrial reconstruction as an important driver of the development of the Ukrainian economy,"
"New approaches to construction in war conditions,"
“Housing recovery prospects”, and others.
The panel "Barrier-Free and Inclusive: Today's Challenges" was headed by Vitalii Melnyk, Vice President of UDP:
"The issue priority: inclusiveness and barrier-free should become priority issues for the government and society as a whole. It is necessary to support public initiatives and organizations aimed at increasing inclusiveness and barrier-free environment in society. The need for systemic change: Systemic transformations in legislation, infrastructure and education are essential to ensure inclusiveness and accessibility for all populations. Creating accessible infrastructure: Communities and businesses must invest resources in creating barrier-free jobs and the environment as a whole, which will help ensure accessibility for all. Global context: Ukraine can and should learn from the example of other countries that successfully implement inclusive policies and programs. "
Within the congress, important decisions were made:
The Association of Small Towns of Ukraine organized a two-day marathon "Supermarket of Solutions for Communities" - a digital communication platform for community support.
The Association of ATO Veteran Entrepreneurs raised important issues of socialization of veterans through entrepreneurship, effective veteran policies, benefits of partnership with veteran businesses, etc.
During the event, a Memorandum was signed with the CF "The Future of Ukraine 2050," which provides for joint activities aimed at supporting veteran entrepreneurship and rehabilitation.
On the third floor you could see the partner stands. Prefunction zone, located near the escalators, as well as spacious conference spaces near the concert hall were able to host a large number of stands. Considering that all the expositions were quite large-scale and presentable, everyone was comfortably accommodated, and the guests could move and communicate freely.
On the summer terrace, guests had the opportunity to attend informative lectures on environmental issues, community development, business automation, education, and others, as well as master classes. The whole event took place on the third floor, so guests could comfortably stay on the terrace, enjoy the views of the capital, and relax, as well as quickly go to the stands’ zone and get important information.
The congress was also attended by representatives of local governments, politicians, and government officials, large and small businesses, developers, investment funds, etc. Among them are Pavlo Kozyrev, Chairman of the Association of Small Towns of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval, Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Maksym Kushnir, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs, Garik Korogodski, writer, founder of the Life Love charity fund, owner of the Dream shopping center and others.
Within the framework of the congress, the winners were announced for the first time and the award ceremony of the independent construction award "CREATOR OF THE YEAR - 2024" was held. The awards were received by companies, industry experts and projects in 11 nominations in the categories "Construction," "Architecture," "Business in the construction sector." This is a great opportunity to support Ukrainian entrepreneurs, leaders, and artists, and thank them for their courage, responsibility, and desire for development. An incredible contribution to the prosperity of the country, which is an incentive for new ideas and achievements of the present.
