On September 16, Young Chefs will take place in Kyiv for the second time — an event that brings together chefs, restaurant owners, and everyone passionate about gastronomy.
This year’s theme is URBAN. The focus will be on gastronomic landscapes, urban ecosystems, different poles of the restaurant scene, culinary memory, and the search for new flavors.
At the Chefs Scene, workshops will be led by a new generation of chefs:
For the first time, the main stage will host a Pastry Jam Session: a performance where four pastry chefs — Kateryna Kraus, Inna Datsenko, Iryna Davydenko, and Anita Levchuk — will prepare desserts dedicated to different Ukrainian cities.
At Food Talks, key projects and experiences will take center stage: Meryam Yol and Natali Artyushenko will present “The De-occupation Stall”, while Mykyta Chumakov will share his experience as a chef in the military.
Food Chat will feature two panel discussions with insiders from the restaurant industry. Focus topics: multifunctional spaces (Sens, Avangarden, UnderWu, Foodoteka) and venues that build communities and implement social projects (Urban Space 100, Misto Café, Kudriavka, Community Café).
Alongside the main stage, two labs will offer a more intimate format for dialogue with speakers. At Chefs Lab, lectures will be delivered by chefs Dmytro Kryvoshap, Vadym Herbuta, Yevhenii Menzelevskyi, along with presentations by Liliia Abdulkader and Dmytro Oseledets (Kolobok Bo project).
For the first time, a Creative Lab will run at the event: a creative space for business featuring Vlad Bolsun (founder of the merch agency select and author of creativity courses), Polina Vyshnia (CEO and founder of Vyshnia.agency), and photographer & set designer Olha Sosiura.
As always, there will be a pop-up zone, and the event will conclude with an art-gastronomy performance by Young Chefs and Yak Nikoly. The concept: Urban Aesthetics — graffiti, mosaics, monuments reinterpreted and expressed through food.
Young Chefs, like all projects by Hoteliero (Ukrainian Gastro Show, Chef-Chef, Be Wine, Barometer, Kyiv Whisky), systematically supports the modern prosthetics and rehabilitation center SUPERHUMANS.
